JOB SUMMARY
Play a key role in strengthening the long‑term performance of our Permian gas gathering system. This position drives value through advanced hydraulic modeling and system analysis, development and evaluation of new projects, cost estimation, and field‑level optimization. You’ll collaborate closely with operations teams to enhance system reliability, support day‑to‑day troubleshooting, and identify opportunities that improve efficiency, throughput, and safety across the network
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Build, maintain, and validate system hydraulic models
Use hydraulic, process, and compression software to evaluate existing assets and future growth opportunities
Perform field assessments to ensure systems are operating as designed
Collect and analyze data to identify business opportunities, then prepare project plans, such as new pipelines and compressor relocations, to capture the
Evaluate potential projects to determine the value to ONEOK including economic modeling, process mapping, user stories, or other required documentation
Secure funding for small projects and progress them to completion
Engage with project teams and construction foremen through evaluation and execution of larger projects
Support planning of field operations projects and activities
Work with various teams including Gas Supply, Commercial Optimization, Infrastructure Planning, and Business Development Engineering to ensure alignment on current and future growth strategies
Education
Work Experience
Design and analysis of pipeline systems, reciprocating compressors, and/or glycol dehydration packages, typically attained with 1-5 years of progressive development in an engineering role.
Hydraulic modeling software including or similar to Synergi Gas, SPS, Fathom, etc. preferred
Process simulation software including or similar to ProMax, VMG Sim, Hysys, etc. preferred
Compression modeling software including or similar to Ariel Performance Program, D-R Size, etc. preferred
BI/analytical tools such as PI, Spotfire, Seeq, Anaplan, etc. preferred
Management of small capital, operational, or business projects preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of: hydraulic modeling concepts, software, and tools
Knowledge of: pipeline operations and commercial functions with the ability to understand and analyze business impacts
Ability to: apply math, algebraic formulas, hydraulic equations, and statistical methods for detailed analysis
Ability to: analyze and resolve complex issues and/or questions concerning engineering design and calculations
Ability to: read and interpret governmental regulations, contracts, manuals, specifications, surveys, charts, and other relevant reports and correspondence
Ability to: identify, plan and organize projects to completion
Ability to: lead groups effectively
Ability to: manage and prioritize multiple assignments with competing deadlines
Ability to: use logic and reasoning to identify alternate solutions or approaches to a problem
